How to Rearrange PDF Pages (Reorder, Rotate, Delete)

3 min readUpdated 5 October 2026

To rearrange PDF pages, open Organize PDF, drop in your file and drag the pages into the order you want — or use the arrows under each page. Rotate or delete pages as you go, then press Save PDF to download the reorganized file.

It's free, needs no account and works in any browser on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android. The pages are rearranged on your own device and never uploaded, and they keep exactly the same quality as the original.

Step by step

  1. 1Open Organize PDF and add your fileGo to the Organize PDF tool and drop a PDF onto the page, or click to choose it. A thumbnail of every page appears.
  2. 2Move pages into orderDrag a page to its new place, or use the left and right arrows under it to move it one step earlier or later. The number on each card is its new position; moved pages also show their original page number.
  3. 3Rotate sideways pagesUse the rotate buttons under a page to turn it left or right. To turn the whole document, use Rotate all left or Rotate all right at the top.
  4. 4Delete pages you don't needPress the bin icon in a page's corner. The page fades and is marked Deleted — press the same button again to Restore it. Nothing is removed until you save.
  5. 5Save the new PDFPress Save PDF (or Ctrl/⌘ + Enter). A new file is saved with “-organized” added to its name; your original is untouched. Send to… passes it straight to another tool.

Rearranging pages on iPhone or Android

Open the tool in Safari or Chrome and tap the drop area to pick a PDF from Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or Downloads. On a touchscreen, the arrow buttons under each page are the easiest way to move it — tap a few times to walk a page to its new spot.

On narrow phones the pages are shown two per row so every button is easy to tap. When you tap Save PDF, the file goes to your Downloads (Files › Downloads on iPhone).

Fixing sideways or upside-down scans

Scanners and phone scan apps often save a page or two the wrong way round. Rotate just those pages with the buttons under them; if every page is sideways, use Rotate all left or Rotate all right once.

Rotation only changes which way the page is displayed. The content isn't redrawn, so text stays sharp and searchable and images keep their full quality. Deleted pages are skipped by Rotate all.

Check your changes before saving

The bar at the bottom keeps count — for example “9/10 pages · 2 rotated · 1 deleted” — so you can see what the new file will contain before you save.

Made a mess of it? Reset puts every page back in its original order, removes your rotations and restores deleted pages in one go.

Tip: Deleting is reversible until you press Save PDF. If you're not sure about a page, delete it, look at the order without it, and restore it if needed.

When you need a different tool

Organize PDF works on one file at a time. For related jobs, use:

  • Merge PDF — add pages from other files first, then rearrange the combined document here.
  • Split PDF — pull some pages out into a separate file instead of deleting them.
  • Stamp PDF — add page numbers once the order is final.
  • Compress PDF — make the finished file small enough to email.

Questions people ask

How do I change the order of pages in a PDF?
Open the PDF in Organize PDF, drag pages into the order you want or move them with the arrow buttons, then press Save PDF.
How do I delete a page from a PDF?
Press the bin icon on the page you don't want. It's marked Deleted and left out when you press Save PDF; the rest of the pages are saved as a new file.
Can I rotate just one page?
Yes. Use the rotate buttons under that page. Rotate all left and Rotate all right turn every page at once.
Does rotating or reordering reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are and rotation only changes their orientation, so text and images keep their original quality.
Is it safe to edit PDF pages online?
With this tool, yes: the pages are rearranged in your browser and the file is never uploaded to a server.
